Information for companies

The Internship Service helps TECNUN students complement their university study by doing an internship at a company or public or private institution. Students put the knowledge they've acquired into practice and develop the skills they will need in their professional career.

The School of Engineering, along with the Fundación Empresa-Universidad de Navarra, acts as an intermediary between companies and students, facilitating the search for internships and their management.

Internships are for students who have passed 50% of the credits needed to receive their university degree. Internships typically take place during the summer, but they can take place at any time during the academic year depending on the student's status and the company's needs. Internships cannot exceed 500 hours per academic year

Administrative process

Volunteer student internships are subject to Royal Decree 1707/2011, November 18 under the Company-University Agreement. Internships are academic in nature and therefore interns are in no way considered employees of the company. The internship is formalised through a cooperation agreement between the company, the University of Navarra and Fundación Empresa-Universidad de Navarra (FEUN).

Because internship students are not employed by the company, they are not registered with Social Security. FEUN provides the students with a policy that covers accidents and liability for the duration of the internship.

If you wish to offer an internship, fill in the on-line form or fill in the paper form. Your offer will be posted as soon as we receive it. After the posted deadline, we will send the CVs of interested students to your company, so you can begin the selection process. All processing will be done by the External Relations Service at TECNUN. Once your company selects a candidate, all information will be sent on to FEUN, which will take care of all the paperwork (agreement, insurance, financial aid, etc.)

Financial Considerations

Companies may opt to add to the student's financial aid package to give compensation for work performed.

If a company does not add to student financial aid packages, it must give FEUN 70 € for each student before he or she begins the internship.

If a company does contribute to a student's financial aid package, all financial and administrative processing will be channeled through FEUN as the student is receiving a grant from the Fundación and is not an employee of the company. In this case, company contributions will be given to FEUN. To the amount the company contributes for the student 10% will be added as a donation to the foundation's grant fund. The total amount a company gives to the Foundation is considered a donation and therefore is tax deductible. The Foundation issues certification of company donations each year so they can be declared on the annual income tax form.
