The final project is a required subject that students may complete at a company. Because it is an academic subject, the project must be approved by the professor in charge of final projects. The objective is to have a student help a company with its own projects.
The final project is completed in a 4-6 month time frame. A longer time frame is not recommended.
Administrative process
Final projects done at companies are supervised activities. The final project is academic in nature and therefore the student is in no way considered an employee of the company. In-company final projects are formalised via a cooperation agreement between the company, the University of Navarra and Fundación Empresa-Universidad de Navarra (FEUN).
Because the student is not employed by the company, students are not registered with Social Security. FEUN provides the student with a policy that covers accidents and liability for the duration of the internship.
If you wish to offer a final project opportunity, fill in the on-line form or fill in the paper form. Once TECNUN receives your final project offer and it has been approved by the corresponding professor in charge of final projects, it will be posted. After the posted deadline, we will send the CVs of interested students to your company so you can begin the selection process. All the processing will be done by the External Relations Service at TECNUN. Once your company selects a candidate, all information will be sent on to FEUN, which will take care of all the paperwork (agreement, insurance, financial aid, etc.)
Financial Considerations
A company may opt to add to the student's financial aid package to give compensation for work performed.
If the company does not add to student financial aid package, it must give FEUN 70 € for each student before he or she begins the final project.
If the company does contribute to a student's financial aid package, all financial and administrative processing will be channeled through FEUN as the student is receiving a grant from the Fundación and is not an employee of the company. In this case, company contributions will be given to FEUN. To the amount the company contributes for the student 10% will be added as a donation to the foundation's grant fund. The total amount a company gives to the Foundation is considered a donation and is therefore tax deductible. The Foundation issues certification of company donations each year so they can be declared on the company's annual income tax form.
