José Manuel Martínez Esnaola
Prof. José M. Martínez-Esnaola is Senior Principal Researcher at the group on Mechanics of Materials of CEIT. He is also Full Professor of Applied Mathematics and Materials Science at the School of Engineering of the University of Navarra (TECNUN).
After completing his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Navarra in 1986, he moved to Imperial College in London (UK) for a post-doctoral position at the Department of Mathematics working in the fields of Applied Mathematics, Fracture Mechanics and materials modelling between 1988 and 1990.
As continuation of these research activities he joined CEIT and the School of Engineering of the University of Navarra in Spain. Since then he has been conducting research on Fracture Mechanics, micromechanics and modelling of the deformation and fracture behaviour of advanced materials and interfaces.
He has supervised more than twenty-five research projects, both through public calls and through direct contracts with industrial companies (many of them, international companies) and participated in some others.
He is author or co-author of about 270 scientific and technical papers, book chapters and communications in conferences, about 90 of them in SCI-indexed international refereed journals.
