Francisco Javier Nieto Fernández
Javier Nieto received his Master Degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1991 and his PhD in Mechanical Engineering in 1996 from Tecnun, the Technological Campus of the University of Navarra in San Sebastian.
Since then he is a researcher at the Experimental Analysis and Design Unit (Applied Mechanics Department) at CEIT. His main research and technical interests are in the field of Noise and vibrations, Characterisation of the dynamic behaviour of structures or machines, Design, construction and use of test benches, Instrumentation and data acquisition systems, Training simulators, Railway technology: theoretical and experimental structural analysis, railway vehicle dynamics, active suspensions, tilting trains, noise reduction, wheel/track interaction and other aspects related with the optimisation of vehicle components.
He has participated in more than 40 research projects, has directly supervised 1 doctoral thesis, he is author or co-author of about 10 scientific papers in refereed journals and 20 articles in national and international conferences, and he is author or co-author of 4 international patents.
