Isabel Ayerdi Olaizola
Isabel Ayerdi was born in San Sebastian in 1968. She received her MSc and PhD degrees in Industrial Engineering, majoring in Electricity and Electronics, from the Engineering School of the University of Navarra, Spain, in 1992 and 1998 respectively. Since 1993, she has been a researcher in the Microelectronics and Microsystems Department at CEIT, San Sebastian. Currently, she is also a Professor in the Electrical, Electronic, and Control Engineering Department at Tecnun, the Engineering School of the University of Navarra.
As a researcher, she has been mainly involved in the development of physical and chemical microsensors, studying new sensitive materials performance and 3D microstructures behaviour. She now also works in the microstructuring and replication of polymers. She has taken part in nearly 30 R&D projects, among them, the European project DELILA (FP6-IST-027976). She has 9 scientific publications and more than 20 contributions to different conferences. She has participated as an inventor in 6 patents.
She has taught in Microsystems Technology, Doctoral Program in Applied Engineering, since 2005 and in Micro- and Nanotechnology, Master in Biomedical Engineering, since 2008. She was director of the thesis entitled A Laser Interference Lithographic Tool for Micro- and Nano-scale Patterning of Materials presented in Tecnun, Engineering School, University of Navarra (February 2010) and member of the jury in two doctoral thesis.
