Welcome to TEST - a visual environment to solve thermo problems, pursue what-if scenarios, perform numerical experiments, and engage in a life-long learning experience to challenge Arnold Sommerfield! Just go through the hands-on Tutorial (30 min) to put TEST to full use without much of a learning curve.

Before you start, try the quick-link icons on the left to make sure your browser has the right plug-ins (Java and Flash Player). Begin a systematic problem solving session in the world of Daemons - smart thermodynamic calculators customized for specific classes of problems. If you are an advanced user, try the Map to jump to a daemon page. There is a lot more to do! Explore Virtual Thermo (VT) - an animation library depicting how thermodynamic systems work. In the Problems section, there are 15 chapters of examples and problems, complete with TEST-codes from which visual solutions can be instantly reproduced. And, yes, you will find old-fashioned Tables and charts too for manual solution!

If you have a technical question, join the thermodynamic Forum. For reporting bugs, suggesting improvements, or just letting us know how you like TEST, please use the Comments page. We will apreciate your comments.

Warning: Despite best efforts from the author and relentless testing by users (more than 10,000 hits a day on a single server), it is almost certain that TEST, like most software, still has bugs. The author assumes no liability for any inaccurate data, errors or bugs in TEST, and strongly recommends independent verification of TEST-results for mission-critical applications.
