Course: Cryptography and Network Security

Credits: 4.5 (3.5 theoretical and 1 practical)
Day, time & venue: Mondays and Tuesdays, 4:30 p.m. - 6:00 p.m (Classroom 9)

Lectures will be in Spanish but some classes may be in English. Material notes and slides will be in English.

Description:

This course is mainly divided into three major parts. The first one covers the cryptography and the algorithms used for encrypting and decrypting the information providing confidentiality. The second one is focused on network security and we will look at network applications in order to protect communications. The last part, closely related to the second one, is designed to recognize hazards which are typical of private systems and local networks.
